Where Am I?
We have not been able to travel much this past year or two, so what better way to see the world than travelling using your mind? Given the set of clues, can you guess where in the World I am describing? QUESTIONS 1. I am a very old city in the Middle East which has seen much conflict over the centuries. I am sacred to Christians, Jews and Muslims and I am also called the City of David. Which city am I? 2. I am a merchant of the late Minoan civilization, I have left my home of Crete to set up shop on this island in the centre of the Aegean Sea. My life ended suddenly by a catastrophic event that quite possibly gave rise to the myth of Atlantis. Which island am I on? 3. I am a European city that straddles the Danube and I am home to the world’s oldest existing zoo. Mozart, Brahms and Beethoven all called me home. Where am I? 4. I make up 20% of the Earth’s surface and I am divided in two by the Equator. I manage to touch four of the seven continents and I am named after a Greek god by the Romans! What am I? 5. I am standing on top of one of the oldest and biggest man-made structures on the planet which is at least 4,000 miles long. It is said to be able to be seen from space. What is it? 6. This structure in Wiltshire has stood for thousands of years. Scholars think it may be an ancient form of clock or calendar and they cannot understand how the large blocks were moved from Wales to their standing place. What am I? 7. I am standing on top of one of the world's most famous rocks, a true Herculean Pillar, two countries have bickered over control of this small peninsula for many years. There is a theory that, in the remote past, this was the site of a gigantic waterfall, the like of which has not been seen on Earth again. Where am I? 8. I am an area of remote Siberia that saw a devastating explosion from a meteorite flatten a huge swathe of my forests in the early 20th century. Where am I? 9. I am a city of around five square miles that is truly unique. I sit in the Andean mountains high above the Urubamba River and many people consider me a wonder of the world. What city am I? 10. My people are all descendants from one of the most famous mutinies in history and I am well known amongst the diving and marine community for my pristine waters and abundant sea life.
